SAN ANTONIO, Aug. 15, 2024 ~ San Antonio, TX - The 2024 San Antonio Startup Week, powered by Geekdom, is set to kick off on Monday, October 14th at 9:00 a.m. with a fireside chat featuring trailblazing investor and entrepreneur Arlan Hamilton. The event, themed "Invest In," will take place from October 14th to 18th in downtown San Antonio. H-E-B, through its Supplier Diversity department, will serve as the title sponsor for the annual event, aligning with their mission to support and promote entrepreneurs in San Antonio and across the state.

The theme for this year's SASW is "Invest In," highlighting the significance of personal, financial, and community investment. The event aims to bring together aspiring entrepreneurs, seasoned investors, industry experts, and community leaders to explore opportunities, share insights, and ignite growth. Attendees can expect pitch competitions as well as sessions featuring LatinX, women, and military veteran founders.

Headlining the event is Arlan Hamilton, founder of Backstage Capital - a venture capital firm dedicated to reducing funding disparities in tech by investing in high-potential founders who are people of color, women or LGBTQ. Since its establishment in 2015, Backstage Capital has raised nearly $30 million and invested in 200 startups led by underestimated founders. Hamilton is also the founder of Runner - a startup that connects exceptional talent with inclusive companies. Her most recent ventures include Yacht Water - a line of still and sparkling refreshments - and 3xBA - a women's basketball development league.
