Cardinal Health at-Home Solutions opens Texas distribution center; announces plans for new California site

DUBLIN, Ohio, Sept. 4, 2025 ~ Fort Worth, Texas - Cardinal Health (NYSE: CAH) has recently announced the opening of its newest distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas. This facility is solely dedicated to the at-Home Solutions business, a leading medical supplies provider that serves over 6 million people annually in the United States. In addition to this, Cardinal Health has also revealed plans to break ground on another distribution center in Sacramento, California later this fiscal year.

The new distribution center in Fort Worth spans over 340,000 square feet and is the third facility built from the ground-up by at-Home Solutions in just three years. It is equipped with state-of-the-art robotics and automation technology and is expected to ship approximately 10,000 packages per day directly to people's homes across the country. These shipments contain critical medical supplies needed to manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, sleep apnea, and urological conditions.

According to Jamie Deist, senior vice president of Supply Chain for at-Home Solutions, investing in their supply chain is not a luxury but a necessity. "We will always prioritize what is needed to ensure that our distribution network is built with our customers' needs in mind," he stated. The company has been intentional in designing their supply chain of the future and has been selective in choosing robotics and automation technologies that enhance their ability to deliver supplies quickly and efficiently. This focus has resulted in the best year on record for warehouse service levels, quality, and safety for at-Home Solutions.

At Cardinal Health's recent Investor Day presentation, Rob Schlissberg, president of at-Home Solutions announced plans for further investment and expansion. As part of this plan, Cardinal Health will break ground on another new site fully dedicated to the at-Home Solutions business in Sacramento this fiscal year. Additionally, they will also begin retrofitting an existing distribution center in Ontario, California with advanced technology featured in their newest sites.

Deist emphasized the importance of expanding in the West Coast, stating that it is critical to get packages to their customers faster and more efficiently. "With numerous carrier hubs and a significant number of our customers located on the West Coast, we knew that now was the right time for us to focus on both expanding our presence and further automating our existing sites in that region of the U.S.," he said.

The new Sacramento building is expected to be fully operational by Summer 2027. With this expansion, at-Home Solutions aims to continue providing top-notch service to their customers while also staying ahead in the ever-evolving medical supplies industry.
