ARLINGTON, Texas - Txylo -- DFW Entertainment Leader Jeanette Greenwood Brings Texas Indie Filmmaker Awards Back to Arlington for 4th Year
Sponsors, media partners, and collaborators invited to support the September 21, 2026, celebration at Bob Duncan Center
ARLINGTON, Texas — Jeanette Greenwood has never been content to simply talk about change in the entertainment industry — she has spent years creating it. Known for her dynamic leadership and passion for opening doors, Greenwood has become a recognizable force across North Texas as a writer, director, producer, mentor, and founder committed to helping independent creatives be seen, celebrated, and connected.
Greenwood's journey began with a mission to create opportunities where they did not exist. In 2009, she founded Headline Mentors & Performing Arts (HMPA), a grassroots organization rooted in mentorship, creative expression, and community impact. Over time, that work evolved into Ladies in Film & Television, a growing platform supporting filmmakers, actors, writers, youth, and media professionals throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth region.

With more than 35 years of experience in stage writing and directing and more than a decade in film production, Greenwood has built a reputation not only for storytelling but for building community around storytelling. Her work centers on collaboration, visibility, and strengthening the creative ecosystem throughout North Texas.
That vision continues with one of her signature initiatives, the 4th Annual Texas Indie Filmmaker Awards (TIFA) 2026, scheduled for September 21, 2026, at the Bob Duncan Center in Arlington, Texas. Entering its fourth year, TIFA celebrates Texas independent filmmakers while creating opportunities for networking, collaboration, and industry growth.
Nominees for the Texas Indie Filmmaker Awards 2026 will be officially notified on April 10, 2026, via FilmFreeway, marking the next milestone leading up to the September celebration.
For Greenwood, TIFA represents more than an awards program. It reflects her broader mission to connect creatives and strengthen the entertainment industry across Texas.
"The DFW area is full of incredible talent, but talent still needs visibility, relationships, and access," said Greenwood. "I do not just want creatives to show up and be applauded. I want them to connect, build, collaborate, and leave knowing there is room for them in this industry."
As planning continues, Ladies in Film & Television is inviting sponsors, media partners, and collaborators to support the 2026 awards. Sponsorship opportunities provide brand visibility, red-carpet exposure, and direct engagement with filmmakers and creative professionals throughout Texas. Businesses interested in sponsorship opportunities may contact business@ladiesinfilm.org.

Greenwood continues to position the Dallas–Fort Worth region as a growing hub for independent film and television, encouraging collaboration that strengthens the creative community.
