~ In the wake of the recent assassination attempt on President Donald Trump and the tragic loss of innocent lives, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has announced that the state has deployed law enforcement resources to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to assist with security at the Republican National Convention.
According to Governor Abbott, it is crucial for Americans to stand together and protect each other from those who wish harm upon them. He stated, "now more than ever, it is critical that we stand together to protect our fellow Americans against those who wish us harm." In order to ensure the safety of attendees at the convention, Texas has sent over 100 members of law enforcement to provide support.
The governor expressed his gratitude towards these personnel for dedicating a week of service to their fellow Americans in Wisconsin. He also assured that Texas will always step up to maintain law and order and protect its citizens. Additionally, Governor Abbott mentioned that Texas is ready to support the Democratic National Convention in August if requested.

The deployment includes 105 personnel from various departments such as Austin Police Department with 27 personnel, Dallas Police Department with 13 personnel, Fort Worth Police Department with 46 personnel, and McAllen Police Department with 19 personnel. These individuals began their 7-day deployment on July 13 and are expected to return home on July 19.
This deployment is coordinated under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC), which is a state-to-state mutual aid system that enables states to provide assistance and share resources in response to disasters or emergencies. The members of EMAC can share resources from all disciplines, protect deployed personnel, and be reimbursed for mission-related costs. Officials in Wisconsin are expected to reimburse Texas for any costs incurred during this deployment.

As law enforcement continues their efforts in ensuring a safe environment for all attendees at the Republican National Convention, it is reassuring to know that states are able to come together and support each other in times of need.
