~ Texarkana, Texas is set to host a Music Friendly Texas Community workshop on Monday, March 20th. Governor Greg Abbott has expressed his support for the event, noting that music is key to the Texas brand and local economies. The workshop will be led by Chip Adams, Community Relations and Outreach Specialist for the Texas Music Office (TMO). Adams will explain the Music Friendly Texas Community designation, its benefits, and answer any questions.

The Music Friendly Texas program was introduced by TMO in 2016 and provides communities with a network for fostering music industry development. Currently, 40 cities have earned the designation. Musicians, venues, and members of the public are welcome to attend in person or online. The event will take place at City Hall of Texarkana from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM in the City Manager's Conference Room on the second floor.
