~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott revealed that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved his request for a disaster declaration for North Texas communities affected by severe storms that occurred in late April. The declaration includes ten counties: Cooke, Denton, Hood, Jack, Johnson, Montague, Palo Pinto, Parker, Tarrant, and Wise.
According to Governor Abbott, this declaration will provide much-needed resources for Texans who have been impacted by the severe storms. He expressed his gratitude to the Texas Division of Emergency Management for their collaboration with the Trump Administration in assisting those in need.
The SBA has granted access to its Home Disaster Loans, Business Physical Disaster Loans, and Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program. These low-interest loans will be available to qualifying homeowners, renters, and businesses in the affected North Texas communities.
Applicants can apply online at sba.gov/disaster or call SBA's Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 for more information. Those who are deaf or hard of hearing can access telecommunications relay services by dialing 7-1-1. Completed applications should be mailed to the U.S. Small Business Administration's Processing and Disbursement Center.

To further assist with the application process and address any questions about the disaster loan programs, SBA representatives will open a Disaster Loan Outreach Center at 513 Port O Call Drive in Runaway Bay starting today at 9 AM. The center will be open on weekdays from 9 AM - 6 PM.
Another center will open tomorrow at 109 W 3rd Street in Springtown and will operate on weekdays from 9 AM - 6 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM - 1 PM. Additionally, a third center will open on Monday at 4801 US-180 in Mineral Wells and will also operate on weekdays from 9 AM - 6 PM.
Governor Abbott has been taking swift action to provide support to communities affected by severe weather. He recently amended the state's severe weather disaster declaration to include impacted coastal communities and directed TDEM to request joint preliminary damage assessments with local and federal officials in additional affected areas. He also requested SBA assistance for communities affected by severe storms and added Palo Pinto County to the state's severe weather disaster declaration.
In preparation for potential future severe weather risks, Governor Abbott has also activated state emergency response resources. The government is committed to providing all available resources to support those affected by these devastating storms.
