~ Governor Greg Abbott has recently made appointments and reappointments to the One-Call Board of Texas, a governing body responsible for overseeing the state's "Call Before You Dig" systems. These systems are crucial in preventing accidents by notifying underground facility operators of excavation plans so that pipelines and utility lines can be marked.
Among the appointments is Tina Polin, a resident of San Antonio who currently serves as the charitable donor advisor at the Oblate School of Theology. Polin is also a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and serves as a Title 1 Committee Member for Valor Charter School. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from The University of Texas at Austin.
Joining Polin on the board is Joe Canales, a senior director of construction at Spectrum and a resident of Frisco. Canales brings with him years of experience in the industry, having previously served on the Time Warner Cable Diversity Council and being an active member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers. He is also a veteran of the United States Army Reserve, having retired after 22 years of service.
