~ Dallas resident Melva Henderson has been appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve on the Rehabilitation Council of Texas. Henderson's term will expire on October 29, 2027. The council, in collaboration with the Texas Workforce Commission, advocates for individuals with disabilities in the vocational rehabilitation process.

Henderson brings over a decade of professional experience working with the blind and visually impaired community to her new role. She is the founder and CEO of Living Beyond Limits, a nonprofit organization that empowers individuals to live beyond their limitations. As a vision life coach, Henderson helps others create a roadmap for success while also raising awareness for an underserved community.
