~ Georgetown attorney Ashley Morgan has been appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve on the Texas Water Development Board until February 1, 2027. The board is responsible for providing leadership, planning, financial, and technical assistance for the development of water resources in the state.

Morgan brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously worked for various government agencies including the Office of the Governor, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Railroad Commission of Texas. She also served on the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

In addition to her legal background, Morgan is an active member of several organizations including the State Bar of Texas and the UT System Chancellor's Council Executive Committee. She is also a docent with the Docents of the Governor's Mansion and an active member of the Stephen F. Austin Alumni Association.

Morgan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Political Science from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law. Her appointment to the Texas Water Development Board will undoubtedly bring valuable insights and expertise to this important role.
