Wade, a resident of Corpus Christi, brings over 24 years of experience in the fire service industry. He currently serves as the fire chief for the Corpus Christi Fire Department and previously retired as an assistant chief with the Austin Fire Department. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the International Association of Fire Chiefs and Texas Fire Chiefs Association.

In addition to his impressive resume, Wade also holds a degree in Fire Science from San Antonio College and a Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management from West Texas A&M University.

Joining Wade on the commission is Daniel Buford of Montgomery. Buford currently serves as a lieutenant for the Bryan Fire Department and previously held the same position at Northeast Volunteer Fire Department. He is also actively involved in various professional organizations such as the International Association of Fire Fighters and Texas State Association of Fire Fighters.

Buford holds an Associate's degree in Fire Science from Lonestar Community College, further adding to his qualifications for this role.

With their diverse backgrounds and extensive knowledge in fire protection, both Wade and Buford are valuable additions to the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.
