~ Early, Texas - Governor Greg Abbott has extended his congratulations to the City of Early for being designated as a Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community by Travel Texas. This recognition comes after the city successfully completed the multi-step certification process in the inaugural year of the program.
The Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community designation is a testament to Visit Early's commitment to developing tourism as an economic growth strategy. It also highlights their efforts to create more job opportunities and attract visitors from all over the nation and world to their community and to Texas.
Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of tourism in both local and state economies, stating that it supports one in 11 jobs across Texas. He also noted that travelers to and within Texas generate over $193.8 billion in annual economic impact and support 1.3 million jobs statewide.
He encouraged all communities in Texas to apply for this certification, stating that every region of the state offers endless opportunities for visitors to experience its natural beauty, rich history, and true hospitality.

Travel Texas Director Tim Fennell praised Early's blend of outdoor adventure and Texan hospitality, citing attractions such as Lake Brownwood's 100 miles of shoreline for fishing and recreational activities, as well as unique experiences like Los Trece's Wild West charm and Skies Over Texas Winery's award-winning wines.
