~ In response to a request from Arizona's Department of Emergency and Military Affairs, Governor Greg Abbott has deployed additional Texas emergency management personnel to support ongoing flood recovery efforts in the state. This announcement was made by the governor himself, who expressed his sympathy for the devastating effects of severe weather and his commitment to helping fellow Americans in their time of need.

Under the direction of Governor Abbott, the Texas Division of Emergency Management has sent logistics, planning, and disaster finance personnel to assist Arizona's Emergency Operations Center and field operations in their flood response and recovery efforts. These resources have been mobilized in addition to the Texas emergency management personnel that were deployed last week.

This deployment is being coordinated under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC), a state-to-state mutual aid system that allows states to provide assistance and share resources with each other during times of disaster or emergency. EMAC members can share resources from all disciplines, protect personnel who are deployed, and be reimbursed for any related costs. More information about EMAC can be found on their website at emacweb.org.

This deployment comes as Texas continues its own response and recovery operations following severe flooding in July. Governor Abbott's decision to send additional personnel to Arizona demonstrates his commitment to supporting other states in times of crisis. With this assistance from Texas, Arizona will have more resources at their disposal as they work towards rebuilding and recovering from recent floods.
