~ In a recent development, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has taken a firm stance against radical sexual orientation and gender identity ideologies. In a letter addressed to all state agency heads, the governor has directed them to adhere to both state and federal laws, including President Donald Trump's executive order.
The letter states that the State of Texas recognizes only two sexes - male and female - and any form of discrimination based on sex is unacceptable. It further emphasizes that attempts to distort the concept of equality between men and women in order to impose mandates related to sexual orientation and gender identity will not be tolerated.
Governor Abbott also highlighted President Trump's executive order issued on January 20, 2025, which rejected similar efforts by the Biden-Harris Administration to distort the biological reality of sex. As the Chief Executive Officer of the State, Governor Abbott has directed all Texas agencies to ensure that their rules, policies, employment practices, and other actions are in compliance with both state and federal laws.
