~ Governor Greg Abbott of Texas ceremonially signed House Bill 4211 into law today, effectively banning residential property developments from creating Sharia compounds and discriminating against Texans. The bill, sponsored by Representatives Candy Noble and Bryan Hughes, aims to protect the freedom of religion and the right to contract for all Texans.
During the signing ceremony, Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of religious freedom in the state of Texas. He stated that bad actors like EPIC and EPIC City have attempted to use religion as a means of segregation, which goes against the values of the Texas Constitution. The new law will ensure that such discriminatory compounds are not built in the state.
The Governor also highlighted how EPIC City sought to create an exclusive community for Muslims, subjecting residents to Sharia law and limiting their ability to sell their property. He stressed that this legislation will protect against any attempts to forcibly impose Sharia law on Texans.

House Bill 4211 was introduced in response to schemes like EPIC City that exploit housing developments for unfair investment practices. It ensures that these developments do not engage in discriminatory housing arrangements or harm Texans through deceptive business practices.
