~ Fort Worth, Texas - Governor Greg Abbott celebrated the grand opening of the New Heights Adult High School in Fort Worth today, highlighting the state's commitment to providing education and training for a highly-skilled workforce. The school, which is a partnership between Tarrant County College and local employers, aims to provide adults between the ages of 18 and 50 with the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and critical training certificates for in-demand, well-paying jobs.
During his speech at the ceremony, Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of investing in education and job training programs. He also praised the Texas Workforce Commission for their work in awarding job and career training grants to Texans across the state. The Governor also highlighted Senate Bill 2032 and House Bill 8, which he signed into law last year to further address workforce needs and create more opportunities for Texans to succeed in the state's thriving economy.
