HOUSTON - Txylo -- This Christmas season, filmmaker and creative storyteller Angel Wynn releases a new short film designed to comfort and encourage audiences navigating grief during the holidays.
Last Christmas, directed by and starring Wynn alongside Brandon Lee Ward, follows Joseph, a young man spending the season mourning the loss of his mother while slowly rediscovering comfort, hope, and emotional healing along the way. The film offers a heartfelt portrayal of sorrow, resilience, and restoration — reminding viewers that even during life's most painful seasons, light can still be found.
Produced under Wynn's Houston-based production company Halo Pictures, the film blends honesty with warmth and gentle moments of humor, reflecting the complexity of real life — where grief and faith quietly coexist. The story acknowledges the weight of loss while pointing toward the spiritual comfort that anchors many during times of emotional uncertainty.

Wynn began her professional journey at just 18 years old, editing her first feature film, John Wynn's Mirror Mirror (2019), which premiered in theaters nationwide and toured 12 major U.S. cities. She later edited two additional projects now streaming on Tubi and Amazon Prime — John Wynn's Playhouse (2021) and John Wynn's One Hour (2022), the latter also premiering internationally in London, UK. She now steps fully into directing, producing, and on-screen storytelling while growing Halo Pictures as a hub for purpose-driven cinema.
Beyond film, Wynn hosts the inspirational podcast Jesus First, Then Coffee, which surpassed 60,000 views within its first 90 days, demonstrating a growing audience drawn to messages of hope, spiritual encouragement, and authentic storytelling.
With Last Christmas, Wynn continues her mission of using film to provide meaningful emotional connection — reaching audiences who may approach the holidays carrying silent grief rather than celebration. The project seeks to open conversations around loss, healing, and spiritual resilience, while reminding viewers that they are not alone during their most difficult seasons.
