AMARILLO, Texas - Txylo -- Grief looks different on everyone, but it can feel especially heavy on the hearts of children. That's why The Hope & Healing Place is once again opening its doors for Hope Camp 2025, a free, four-day summer camp designed specifically for kids who have experienced the death of someone close to them.
This year's camp, held July 8–11 from 9 AM to 12 PM, brings hope & healing to life through a movie-themed program: Hope Camp at the Movies. With stories like Finding Nemo, Frozen, The Lion King, and Up, campers will explore big feelings like sadness, bravery, and belonging in a safe, supportive environment. Through crafts, games, conversation, and connection, children are gently guided toward hope—and reminded they're not alone.
"Sometimes the littlest hearts carry the heaviest grief," said Candice Kirkpatrick, Executive Director for The Hope & Healing Place. "Hope Camp offers a place to play, create, and begin to heal—where kids can feel seen, heard, and surrounded by others who understand."
