HOUSTON, June 2, 2023 ~ Houston has been named one of the top 10 cities in America for 2023, according to the annual list released by placemaking firm Resonance. This is the third consecutive year that Houston has been included in the list, and this year it is the only Texas city to make it into the top 10.
The report praised Houston's "prisms of festivals" and year-round cultural celebrations, which earned it an additional accolade for Culture. The city also received a No. 4 ranking for Restaurants, and a No. 8 ranking for Attractions due to developments such as the upcoming Ismaili Center – the first one in America. Houston's Fortune 500 Community was also recognized with a No. 4 ranking, thanks to developments such as the Houston Spaceport – an FAA-licensed urban commercial spaceport that offers unprecedented access to the aerospace community.
Michael Heckman, President & CEO of Houston First Corporation, said: "Houston is increasingly recognized as one of the nation's top destinations, as evidenced by our rising position in recent years on this prestigious list." He added: "Ours is a city where newcomers from around the world come to create their future in a diverse and welcoming place, one brimming with possibility."
