PORT ARTHUR, Texas, May 16, 2023 ~ Motiva Enterprises announced today that their chemicals plant, part of the company's Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex, has been recertified with the "Star" designation from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). This makes the Port Arthur Chemicals plant the oldest active federal VPP site in the nation with a union-represented workforce.
Jeff Newman, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Motiva's Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex, said: "The safety and well-being of our people and communities is ingrained in our operations." He expressed his pride for employees who paved the way for this designation years ago, and to all who have continued down this path by implementing industry best practices and improvements at their facility over the last thirty-five years.
