The World Animal Awareness Society (WA2S), a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is raising serious concerns about the conduct of Network for Good (NFG) and its new owner, Bonterra, regarding the management of charitable donations.

SAN ANTONIO - Txylo -- Months of Missing Data and Funds

Since September 2024, WA2S has been unable to access donation reports and funds collected through YouTube Giving, a vital source of income for the organization.

"We rely on these donations to support our mission of promoting animal welfare," says Tom McPhee, Executive Director of WA2S. "The lack of communication and accountability from Network for Good is unacceptable. Our donors and partners deserve better."

Timeline of Unresponsiveness and Broken Promises:
  • September 11, 2024: WA2S requests missing August reports. NFG provides inaccurate information and fails to address the issue.
  • September 18, 2024: WA2S escalated the issue to NFG's executive team, including the COO, Melissa Martin. Evasive responses and a lack of transparency continue.
  • September 26, 2024: WA2S informs NFG of its intent to issue a press release and explore legal action. NFG acknowledges an "unrelated dispute" but provides no specifics.
  • October 15, 2024: NFG promises to release August donations by November 22nd, but fails to address missing September and October donations.
  • November 6, 2024: WA2S expresses growing concern and frustration with NFG's lack of transparency and broken promises. NFG acknowledges delays but offers no concrete solutions.

Red Flags and Concerns

WA2S is deeply troubled by several red flags raised during this ordeal:
  • Lack of Communication: NFG has consistently failed to provide timely and accurate information about the delays, leaving WA2S and its partners in the dark.
  • Unresponsive Customer Support: NFG's help desk has been offline for months, with no clear indication of when it will be restored.
  • Outdated Dashboard: The NFG dashboard displays outdated information and lacks critical data, rendering it useless for tracking donations.
  • Broken Promises: NFG has repeatedly failed to deliver on its promises to release funds and reports, eroding trust and confidence in the organization.

Call for Transparency and Accountability

WA2S urges Network for Good and Bonterra to take immediate action to address these concerns and ensure the timely and transparent disbursement of charitable donations. The organization also calls on NFG to improve its communication and customer support to better serve the nonprofit community.

"We are deeply disappointed by Network for Good's handling of this situation," says McPhee. "Their actions have not only impacted our organization but have also cast a shadow of doubt on the integrity of online charitable giving. We hope that by bringing this issue to light, we can encourage greater transparency and accountability in the nonprofit sector."
