DALLAS - Txylo -- The New Dallas basketball team will spend this Halloween season giving back to the community in a different way—off the court. Athletes and staff from New Dallas will volunteer their time at the Red Bird Raiders Alumni Basketball Game & Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thurgood Marshall Recreation Center (5150 Mark Trail Way, Dallas, TX 75232).
The event, hosted by the Red Bird Raiders and Dallas Park & Recreation, will include a Trunk or Treat, prizes, food trucks, games, and the Red Bird Raiders' alumni basketball game inside the gym. Families are encouraged to bring their trick-or-treat bags and wear costumes for a safe, family-friendly evening.
New Dallas athletes will not be competing in the alumni game but will instead serve the community by volunteering and handing out candy to children. This service reflects the team's broader commitment to community engagement and to modeling leadership outside of athletics.
Quote from Shanandiss Hampton, Co-Owner of New Dallas:

"Our athletes understand that leadership isn't just about how you perform in the game—it's about how you show up for your community. Volunteering at this event is a small but meaningful way we can give back and celebrate with the families who support Dallas basketball."
Quote from Kevin Harris, Co-Owner of New Dallas:
"This time, we're not stepping on the court—we're stepping into service. We're excited to hand out candy, connect with families, and be part of the fun. Dallas shows us love year-round, so giving that love back is the least we can do."
