AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 6, 2025 ~ Realtor.com®, a leading provider of online real estate services and subsidiary of News Corp, has announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters from Santa Clara, California to Austin, Texas. This move solidifies Austin as the company's top hiring location and demonstrates their commitment to long-term growth in the state.
The announcement was celebrated on January 29th at a dinner at the Governor's Mansion, attended by Robert Thomson, CEO of News Corp, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and Damian Eales, CEO of Realtor.com®. The event also featured photos of the company's new headquarters in East Austin.
Over the past few years, Realtor.com® has invested in its Austin location through hiring initiatives and supporting local charitable events. The report found that Texas is the fastest growing state and is projected to overtake California as the most populous state in 2045. The top reasons people are moving to Texas include plentiful job opportunities, affordable housing, and a different climate. The majority of these migrants come from California and abroad.
The report also highlights how Texas is leading the nation in building affordable homes, accounting for 15% of all permitted housing units in the US in 2024, despite only having a 9% share of the population.
