Join us in person or virtually on July 12 to support patients needing a bone marrow transplant to survive.
DALLAS - Txylo -- The Icla da Silva Foundation, a nonprofit based in Dallas, Texas invites you to run, walk, and cheer at its family-friendly 5K for bone marrow transplant patients, taking place Saturday, July 12, at Windhaven Meadows Park in Plano, Texas. The in-person race begins at 8 AM, with virtual participation available nationwide.
This uplifting event brings together local runners, families, and supporters in an inspiring show of solidarity for patients battling life-threatening blood disorders. Their only cure is a bone marrow transplant. The Foundation provides financial support for lodging, transportation, and meals, so families can focus on what matters most — treatment and recovery.
A Race with a Purpose
Every year, thousands of patients in the U.S. are diagnosed with diseases that can only be cured with a bone marrow or stem cell transplant. These include leukemia, lymphoma, aplastic anemia, and sickle cell disease. Yet patients from underserved communities often lack the resources to access treatment.

"It's heartbreaking," says Airam da Silva, President of the Icla da Silva Foundation. "A patient and their caregiver have to stop working. Patients spend at least 100 days in treatment. Families simply can't afford to do this alone. Our 5K is about removing those financial barriers so recovery is possible."
Since 2022, the Foundation has provided over $1 million in direct support to more than 1,800 patients nationwide. The Plano 5K is one of several events nationwide aimed at bringing communities together to raise both funds and awareness.
The morning will include live Samba music, refreshments, and a chance to connect with others who care. Whether you run, walk, or sponsor, your participation helps run cancer out of town.
Register today at www.icla5K.org and take a step toward hope for patients who need your support.
