AMARILLO, Texas - Txylo -- Amarillo City Elections aren't over yet. Two of the five City Council seats are headed to a runoff and Early Voting starts Monday, June 12. The upcoming runoff election will determine the seats for City Council Place 1 and Place 4.
RUNOFF EARLY VOTING:
DATES: Monday - Friday, June 12-16 & Tuesday, June 20
TIME: 8am - 5pm
Some locations will offer 7am - 7pm hours
In the previous voting round, Josh Craft and Les Simpson emerged as the top vote-getters in Pace 1 and Place 4, respectively. But it's important to note that Amarillo operates on a majority voting system and a candidate must secure more than 50% of the total votes to be declared the winner.

With 111,967 registered voters in Amarillo, only 21,246 voted in the May elections. Historically, an even smaller percentage of voters come back for a runoff and approximately 6,000 voters are expected to vote in the runoff.

Please remember to bring a valid form of identification, such as a driver's license or voter ID card, when you go to vote.
