SAN ANTONIO (January 13, 2021) – At a recent Public Facilities Corporation (PFC) meeting the board discussed a new affordable housing project in District 5 named the Loma Vista Lofts Apartments. Initially, the proposed project contained 212 rental units all set at the 60% area median income (AMI) level.
Councilwoman Castillo provided the following statement regarding the project approved by City Council today:
"Leading up to today's meeting, I had extremely productive conversations with the PFC Executive Director, Pete Alanis and staff, and worked collaboratively to establish more affordable units at the 50% and 30% AMI levels in less than a week for our District 5 residents!

I would like to thank the board and my Council colleagues for supporting the innovative use of an Affordable Rental Fund for the Loma Vista Lofts Apartments. Through our negotiations we were able to provide 32 affordable housing units at deep affordability levels for families making 30% and 50% of the Area Median Income. This will provide housing for families earning an income of $14,040. This will ensure that single-parent families, teachers, seniors on fixed incomes, and our working-class communities can afford to thrive in San Antonio. The project is located close to Rosedale Park for recreation, and a high transit corridor for residents to get to and from work with ease."
Additional highlights of this project will feature on-site support from SA Hope Center Services which includes:
