SAN ANTONIO (August 2, 2022) — At today's special session, City Council passed the Resolution of the City of San Antonio to Support Individual's Rights to Health Care drafted by Councilwoman Teri Castillo by a vote of 9 to 2.
"I would like to thank Mayor Ron Nirenberg for recognizing the urgency of adopting this resolution and setting this special meeting, and my Council colleagues for passing this resolution. Today we are sending a message to San Antonio women and all people who require access to reproductive care that we are on their side," the District 5 Councilwoman continued, "This resolution primarily came about because thousands of residents took to the street's week after week in support of their reproductive healthcare rights. District 5 is proud that the City of San Antonio will now join several other Texas cities that have affirmed their responsibility to protect its residents from any violation of their human rights."
