SAN ANTONIO (November 18, 2021) – Today City Council voted unanimously in favor of the Airport's Strategic Development Plan. The following statement is in response to today's action:

"Both the Aviation team and the community put in a lot of work to create a strategic plan for the San Antonio Airport System. Throughout this multiyear process, the community and the City Council had many opportunities to weigh in and help shape the plan to what it is today.

City Council's focus should remain squarely on ensuring a return on investment and full transparency for every dollar spent. Although this item was unanimously supported, concerns regarding the lack of estimated costs provided for each phase of the plan and how each phase will be funded remain. I do not feel comfortable supporting a blank check for any government project and will continue to keep an eye on this plan as it is implemented in the years to come. Ultimately, I voted in favor of the Airport Strategic Development Plan today, because it will not impact our City's General Fund."
