SAN ANTONIO (January 22, 2021) - Councilwoman Jada Andrews-Sullivan statement on the two dead found on the street last night:
"The escalation in violence and crime in our district is alarming. We have taken so many strides to combat the issues and now we are faced with acts that have set us back. We have lost too many lives prematurely to senseless killings. Lives lost over colors that cannot be owned, neighborhoods that no longer exist, drugs that only destroy and over stares that can be ignored. We must get back to uplifting each other. We rallied and marched for justice but we must be justly to each other. We are losing lives daily to a virus we cannot see but yet and still we are losing even more by killing each other. Now is the time we need to sit still and lift each other! Enough is enough and I am asking our city manager to have the police chief do a district wide sweep and focus on the murder rate increase."
