SAN ANTONIO (November 25, 2020) — Today, Councilwoman Viagran expressed her well-wishes for a safe and happy Thanksgiving. She also extended a reminder to shop local this Saturday.
"It is the time of year where we recognize the gratitude in our hearts and the richness in our lives. Despite the COVID pandemic, there are still many blessings around us. Let us give thanks to all the front-line workers – our health care workers, public works employees, teachers, administrators and many more who have worked tirelessly to keep our community moving this year.
Please remember we are still in a pandemic and need to take extra care this Thanksgiving. For the safety of you and your family, please stay home and do not gather with those outside of your immediate household. Remember to wash your hands often, stay six feet apart from others and wear a mask. We must make these small sacrifices so we can celebrate together in the years to come.

As we prepare for holiday gift shopping, remember we can do our part to help the community by shopping local! This coming Saturday is Small Business Saturday. Many small businesses are going through a difficult time. Let's come together as a community and help where we can. Businesses who were hit hard by the pandemic are counting on a strong holiday season to help them get into the new year. Please consider your neighborhood restaurants, retail shops, services, artists and businesses first this year.
We can be the positive impact we need to see in this world. Protect yourself and others from the pandemic and promote the local small businesses in your community. We will get through this together #FortheLoveofSanAntonio.
From my family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving."
