SAN ANTONIO (August 2, 2022) – Today, during a Council Special Meeting, City Council voted on a Resolution to "Support Individual's Right to Health Care." The following statement is in response to today's action:

"With the recent Supreme Court ruling regarding Roe v. Wade, abortion rights are now in the purview of each State, which is where this conversation should happen. This Resolution does not change the law in Texas, as the Council has no legal authority to act on or create an ordinance to change the law. Oftentimes, these resolutions bare no teeth and go beyond the ability and responsibility of City Council. I seldomly support resolutions brought forward by City Council. This resolution divides our great city and does not unite us."
