SAN ANTONIO (May 12, 2022) — Today, with an 8 to 3 vote, City Council passed the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the San Antonio Police Officers Association (SAPOA).
The 5-year contract brings accountability and transparency to the disciplinary process, along with fair compensation and healthcare.

"We need to support city departments that provide quality of life services as the population rises. A contract will help with recruitment and assures the officers currently out in the field that they are valued. The District 3 office looks forward to the changes coming for the rest of the city's department as we make civilian compensation a priority for the next budget," stated Councilwoman Viagran. "San Antonio will lead as a city that values their employees. Today's vote was another step in paving the way to recovery from this pandemic."
