SAN ANTONIO (November 11, 2021) — Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran issued the following statement recognizing Veterans Day:

On this Veterans Day, District 3 would like to express the deepest gratitude to all the servicemen and women and their families. As the daughter of a Vietnam veteran, I am proud to be a native of Military City, USA, and thankful for their courage, camaraderie, selfless dignity, and determination to defend our nation. Veterans are a treasured part of the San Antonio and District 3 community.

We can never do enough to thank these brave heroes, but we should always commit to giving back to our veterans - by connecting them with jobs, housing, health care, and every opportunity to thrive. Veterans Day offers us a moment to express our appreciation for our veterans, but we must honor their sacrifice on this day and every day.

My appreciation for all veterans and active-duty men and women worldwide is deep, and my admiration is even more profound. Thank you so much for your service.
