SAN ANTONIO (May 11, 2022) — The City of San Antonio Planning Department is hosting an open house, at the Stinson Municipal Airport conference room, for the South Community Area Plan. The open house will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

The South Community Area Plan, launched earlier this year, is being developed to implement the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted by City Council in 2016. Throughout this community-based planning process, the City will organize numerous engagement activities and participate in outreach events for residents and interested parties to share their vision for the area. Recommendations and strategies for the area will be created that when adopted, will be used by City Departments, partner agencies, private entities, and community partners to support livable, complete neighborhoods.

During the open-house style public meeting, residents will be asked to share their "big ideas" and vision for the area and receive general information about the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan, and overall sub-area planning process.

"We invite community members, business owners, and stakeholders to participate as we kick-off the planning process for the South Community Area. We are looking forward to engaging conversations with the community, and continued collaboration to develop a plan that will build on the areas' existing assets." said Bridgett White, AICP, Director of the Planning Department.

Opportunities are available to provide comment before, during, or after the open house through the plan website, social media, surveys, email and future meeting opportunities.

To learn more about the plan, please visit the South Community Area Plan website.

Residents may begin sharing their feedback by completing a survey: South Community Area Plan survey.
