SAN ANTONIO (May 16, 2022) — The City of San Antonio Planning Department is hosting an open house, at the Wayside Chapel (1300 Evans Rd.) Worship Center, for the Stone Oak Area Regional Center Plan. The open house will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

The Stone Oak Area Regional Center Plan, launched earlier this year, is being developed to implement the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted by City Council in 2016. Throughout this community-based planning process, the City will organize numerous engagement activities and participate in community events for residents to share their vision for the area. The plan will develop recommendations and strategies for the area that will be used by City Departments, partner agencies, private entities, and community partners to further enhance the Stone Oak area as a vibrant Regional Center with housing and employment opportunities and livable, complete neighborhoods.

During the open-house style public meeting, residents will be asked to share their feedback for the area, community vision, and receive general information about the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan, and overall sub-area planning process.

"We invite all community members, business owners, and stakeholders to participate as we kick-off the planning process for the Stone Oak Area. We are looking forward to engaging conversations, and continued collaboration with the Stone Oak community to develop a plan that will build on the area's existing assets." said Bridgett White, AICP, Director of the Planning Department.

Opportunities are available to provide comment before, during, or after the open house through the plan website, social media, surveys, email and future meeting opportunities.

Residents may begin sharing their feedback by completing a survey: Stone Oak Area Plan survey.
