SAN ANTONIO (January 13, 2021) — Today, Councilwomen Rebecca Viagran, Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia and Ana Sandoval announced the following statement regarding the mass COVID-19 no-cost vaccine distribution sites at the WellMed Elvira Cisneros Senior Community Center and the Alicia Treviño López Senior Center.
"Currently registration is full for all 9,000 slots for the COVID-19 vaccine at both the Elvira Cisneros Senior Community Center on the Southside and the Alicia Treviño López Senior Center on the Westside. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding. We will continue to open more slots as the State provides us with more vaccines. We are committed to improving the intake process. We know this has not been easy.

We have been working diligently to bring this vaccine to our vulnerable communities. Please understand that we can only schedule appointments for the amount of vaccines that the State provides to us. As we receive more vaccines, we will open registration for appointments based on the number of doses. This will be an on-going distribution process that will take time as more vaccines become available. We anticipate this to be a long-term effort requiring patience. Our goal is to get residents equitable access to the COVID-19 vaccine.
You must schedule an appointment over the phone to get vaccinated. The toll-free number to call is
1-833-968-1745. This phone line will be answered from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week to set up vaccination appointments at the Cisneros or Lopez Center. If you are unable to get through, please try again. The phone is receiving hundreds of calls per minute, but people are getting through and being scheduled.
We ask you to please be patient as we are committed to ensuring our residents have access to the COVID-19 vaccine. Updates will be provided as the city receives more COVID-19 vaccines."
