San Antonio: Vietnam Veterans of America honor Councilwoman Viagran for support and commitment

SAN ANTONIO (June 10, 2019) – Today, members of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Alamo Chapter 366 honored Councilwoman Rebecca J. Viagran with a Certificate of Appreciation for supporting veterans and active duty military in San Antonio by participating in their annual ceremony dedicated to all veterans of America.

"Councilwoman's efforts to support the VVA Alamo Chapter and members of the military are greatly appreciated," said Ruben Perez VVA Alamo Chapter President. "To be the only City leader to participate in our ceremony for six consecutive years demonstrates a genuine support and commitment to those who have served and still serving our country today."

Alamo Chapter 366 consists of members from all branches of the U.S. military that proudly served during the "Vietnam Era," 1961 - 1975. The nonprofit organization provides support veterans activities and other City organizations.

"It is an honor to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from VVA Alamo Chapter 366 but also humbling because it is our duty to serve them," said Viagran. "Alamo Chapter 366 has not only served our country but has continued to serve the City of San Antonio, and they deserve to be recognized for their service to our country and the sacrifices they have made to protect our freedom."stats
