SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 17, 2025 ~ As school choice continues to gain momentum in Texas, a highly anticipated event is returning to San Antonio this School Choice Week. The DoSeum, a renowned children's museum, will once again host the School Discovery Day, organized by San Antonio Charter Moms. This free event offers families an exciting opportunity to explore over 30 local schools and gain valuable insights into their educational options for the 2025-2026 school year.
Scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the event promises a day of fun and learning for families who pre-register and receive free admission to The DoSeum. Attendees can participate in a scavenger hunt that takes them through the museum's exhibits while learning about the diverse educational opportunities available in San Antonio.
The participating schools represent a diverse range of institutions, including Great Hearts Texas, IDEA Public Schools, Compass Rose Public Schools, Pre-K 4 SA, and SAISD Choice Schools. Families will also have the chance to connect with innovative options like Anne Frank Inspire Academy, The Gathering Place, and Celebrate Dyslexia Schools. With such a wide variety of schools represented at the fair, there is something for every child's unique needs and interests.

Inga Cotton, Founder of San Antonio Charter Moms and organizer of the event, expressed her excitement about helping families make informed decisions about their children's education. "This event offers families the chance to explore the full range of educational opportunities in San Antonio while engaging in a day of fun and learning at The DoSeum," she said. "We are committed to connecting parents directly with school representatives and resources so they can make the best choices for their children."
The timing of this event coincides with National School Choice Week from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Week which aims to celebrate and raise awareness about educational opportunities for families. The event at The DoSeum is just one of many activities and events happening nationwide during this week.
The DoSeum, located at 2800 Broadway in San Antonio, will host the event throughout the museum. Families can RSVP for the event on the National School Choice Week website in both English and Spanish.
