~ In a recent press release, Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Office of the Governor's Public Safety Office is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of Benjamin Hanil Song. Song is wanted for his alleged involvement in the July 4, 2025 attack on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Detention Facility in Alvarado, Texas. During this attack, an Alvarado police officer was shot and wounded. The Texas Department of Public Safety has added Song to their 10 Most Wanted Fugitive List.

According to Governor Abbott, "The targeted attacks against our federal law enforcement officers is a crime and must end. Criminals such as Benjamin Hanil Song will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law." He encourages anyone with information on Song's whereabouts to call the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline or submit an anonymous tip online. The governor also emphasizes that Texas is a law-and-order state and will not tolerate such acts of violence.

Warrants were issued on Tuesday out of Johnson County for Song's arrest on charges including aiding terrorism, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a public servant, and engaging in organized crime. Additionally, a federal arrest warrant was issued yesterday in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas after Song was charged with attempted murder of a federal officer and discharging a firearm during, in relation to, and in furtherance of a crime of violence.
