~ In a recent press release, Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Office of the Governor's Public Safety Office is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information leading to the arrest of Trevor McEuen. McEuen, who was out on bond for capital murder, failed to appear for his court date and is now considered a fugitive. The Texas Department of Public Safety has also added him to their 10 Most Wanted Fugitive List.

Governor Abbott expressed his concern over the broken and deadly bail system in Texas, stating that criminals like McEuen should never be released onto the streets. He emphasized the urgency of passing bail reform during this legislative session and urged anyone with information on McEuen's whereabouts to come forward and help law enforcement bring him to justice.

McEuen was charged with capital murder, four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and murder after fatally shooting 35-year-old Aaron Martinez in 2023. On May 5, 2025, he failed to appear for his scheduled court date and removed his court-ordered ankle monitor before leaving his residence.

In addition to the state reward offered by the Office of the Governor's Public Safety Office, Kaufman County Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward of up to $10,000 while Kaufman County Sheriff's Office is offering an additional $10,000. This brings the total reward amount up to $30,000.

Authorities have provided two ways for tipsters to provide information anonymously: by calling the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) or by submitting a tip online through the Texas Department of Public Safety website. Tipsters will be given a tip number instead of using their name and their anonymity is guaranteed by law.

It is important for Texans to remember that fugitives like Trevor McEuen should be considered armed and dangerous. It is advised to not try to apprehend a fugitive and instead, leave it to law enforcement professionals. With the help of the community, authorities are confident that they will be able to locate and arrest McEuen.
