~ In a recent press release, Governor Greg Abbott announced that the next 2024 Governor's Small Business Summit will be held in Buffalo, located in the East Texas region. The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 3 and aims to provide resources and information to help small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs succeed.
Governor Abbott expressed his excitement for the upcoming summit, stating that "everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes our small businesses." He also highlighted the significant role of small businesses in the state's economy, with over 3 million small businesses employing nearly half of the Texas workforce. The governor emphasized that Texas offers opportunities and partnerships for businesses of all sizes to grow and succeed.
The Governor's Small Business Summit - Buffalo will bring together local, state, and federal resource partners to provide insights on critical business topics. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with other business owners and meet experts who will share timely advice on a variety of small business topics.
The event will take place at the Buffalo Civic Center located at 1005 Hill Street in Buffalo, TX. Sessions will begin at 9:00am and end at 2:30pm. Some of the session topics include access to finance and funding, leveraging state programs for growth, and understanding what's in it for small businesses when working with Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) programs and Economic Development Corporations (EDCs). The keynote speaker for this summit will be Lindsay Liepman, News Anchor for KCEN-TV 6 News.
