~ Kaufman, TX - Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the final 2024 Governor's Small Business Summit will be held in Kaufman on Thursday, December 5. This summit is part of a series of events held throughout the year in different regions across the state, with the aim of helping Texas small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs succeed by connecting them with resources and information.
According to Governor Abbott, "Everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes our small businesses." With over 3 million small businesses employing nearly half of the Texas workforce, Texas remains a top state for small business job growth. The state offers opportunities and partnerships for businesses of all sizes to grow and succeed. The Governor invites all small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to attend this summit, stating that together they will build a bigger and better Texas for decades to come.

The Governor's Small Business Summit - Kaufman will bring together local, state, and federal resource partners to provide key insights on critical business topics. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with other business owners and meet experts who will share timely, relevant, and actionable advice on a multitude of small business topics. Adriana Cruz, Executive Director of the Governor's Economic Development & Tourism Office, will join as a guest speaker.
The summit will take place at the Kaufman Civic Center located at 607 E. Fair Street in Kaufman from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 5. Session topics include a fireside chat about the triumphs and trials of entrepreneurship, winning workforce strategies for recruiting and developing top-notch talent, knowing when to scale or sell your business for success, and building your brand through targeted marketing and social media techniques. The keynote speakers for this event are Bob & Kelli Phillips, former hosts of the popular show "Texas Country Reporter."
