~ Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the first of the 2025 Governor's Small Business Summits will be held in Uvalde on March 27. These summits, which will be held throughout the year and in various regions across the state, aim to support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by connecting them with valuable resources and information to help them start, strengthen, and grow their businesses.
In a statement, Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of small businesses in Texas' economy, stating that they are "the cornerstone of our vibrant communities" and "the driving force behind Texas' thriving economy." With over 3.3 million small businesses in Texas employing nearly half of all working Texans, the state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion.
The Governor's Small Business Summit in Uvalde will bring together local, state, and federal resource partners to provide insights on critical business topics. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with other business owners and meet experts who will share timely advice on a variety of small business topics.

The summit will take place on Thursday, March 27 at the SSGT. Willie de Leon Civic Center located at 340 E. Main Street in Uvalde. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and will feature sessions on topics such as "Getting Started - Small Business 101," "Financing the Future - Access to Funding for Growing Businesses," and "Building Your Brand - Targeted Marketing & Social Media Techniques."
Registration for the summit is $20 per person and includes access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. Interested individuals can register at gov.texas.gov/events.
Registration is also open for all upcoming 2025 Governor's Small Business Summit locations including Orange (April 24), Denison (May 15), Sugar Land (May 29), Hays County (June 12), Bastrop (June 26), Rockport-Fulton (July 10), Waxahachie (July 24), Pharr (August 7), Big Lake (August 21), Eagle Pass (September 11), Carthage (September 25), Dalhart (October 9), Denton (Women-Focused Event on October 23), and Belton (Veteran-Focused Event on November 13).
In addition to the in-person summits, the Governor's Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office and Office of Small Business Assistance also host Governor's Small Business Webinars to provide information about resources for small businesses and entrepreneurs in Texas through an online format.
