~ Wichita Falls, TX - Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next 2024 Governor's Small Business Summit will be held in Wichita Falls on Thursday, November 14. The summit, which is held throughout the year and in regions across the state, aims to support Texas small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by connecting them with resources and information to start, strengthen, and grow their businesses.
According to Governor Abbott, "Everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes our small businesses." He also highlighted the state's top ranking for small business job growth and its position as the number one state for jobs created by veteran business owners. With a large population of veterans and women veterans, Texas is committed to supporting veteran entrepreneurs and honoring their service and sacrifice.
The Governor's Small Business Summit in Wichita Falls will bring together local, state, and federal resource partners to provide insights on critical business topics. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with other veteran business owners and experts who will share timely advice on a variety of small business topics.

The event will take place at the Wichita Falls Multi-Purpose Event Center (MPEC) located at 1000 5th Street. Sessions will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 2:30 PM. Topics covered during the summit include the benefits of integrating and supporting veterans in the workforce, workforce challenges, access to capital for funding businesses, and a keynote speech from Mike Gabler, Sole Survivor of Survivor 43 from Team Never Quit.
Registration for the summit is $20 per person and includes access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. Interested individuals can register online at gov.texas.gov/events. Registration is also open for the final summit location in Kaufman on December 5.
In addition to these summits, the Governor's Economic Development & Tourism Office and Office of Small Business Assistance also host online webinars to share information about resources for small businesses and entrepreneurs in Texas.
