~ Plano, Texas - Governor Greg Abbott has announced that NTxBio, a biotechnology company, will be establishing a new biomanufacturing facility in Plano. This project is expected to create over 170 new jobs and bring in more than $31 million in capital investment. The company has also been granted a Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant of $1,479,000 to support their expansion.
In his statement, Governor Abbott highlighted Texas as the epicenter for groundbreaking medical research and home to numerous biotech and life science firms. He expressed his excitement for the investment by NTx and the creation of high-paying jobs for Texans in the growing life sciences workforce. NTx was founded in 2015 and specializes in manufacturing pharmaceutical-grade raw materials used in the development of RNA and protein therapeutics. The company's President and CEO, Dr. Jamie Coffin, expressed their enthusiasm for expanding into Plano and being a part of the booming biotech community in Texas. They plan to open their production facility in partnership with the City of Plano and the State of Texas, alongside their existing R&D facility in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
