~ Today, Governor Greg Abbott announced the awarding of 12 Fund for Veterans' Assistance (FVA) grants totaling over $3.2 million to nine Fort Worth area organizations as part of the Texas Veterans Commission's (TVC) Big Check Tour. The funding will provide services to more than 6,300 veterans and their families in 30 North Texas counties.
"We are honoring these brave men and women by helping provide them with the support and services they deserve," said Governor Abbott.
TVC Chairwoman and Navy veteran Laura Koerner expressed her pride in partnering with community organizations in the Fort Worth area to provide veterans with critical support services. "From emergency financial assistance to home modifications, these grants will improve the lives of Texas veterans," she said.
