Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Lori Massey Brissette to the Fourth Court of Appeals, Place 3 for a term set to expire on December 31, 2024, or until her successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
Lori Massey Brissette of San Antonio is a mediator, arbitrator, and private judge for civil, commercial, and family law disputes with LMB Resolution, PLLC and previously served as judge of the 288th District Court in Bexar County. Additionally, after more than 20 years as a litigator and appellate practitioner, she has held senior leadership positions with Northwestern Mutual and USAA and was a partner at Ford & Massey, PC. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas (SBOT), San Antonio Bar Association (SABA), Williams S. Sessions American Inn of Court, Impact San Antonio, and the National Association of Women Business Owners – San Antonio Chapter. She is a Board Member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness - Greater San Antonio, sustaining life fellow of the San Antonio Bar Foundation, sustaining member of the SBOT Litigation Section, and member and advisor for San Antonio PowerWomen. Additionally, she is a former chair and former board member of the San Antonio Women's Chamber of Commerce and former board member of Arms of Hope. Brissette received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law.
