AUSTIN ~ Austin - Governor Greg Abbott has recently announced the appointment of Divyansu Patel, M.D. to the Correctional Managed Health Care Committee. This appointment is set to expire on February 1, 2025. The Committee is responsible for coordinating the development of statewide policies for health care delivery within the criminal justice system.

Dr. Patel, who resides in Austin, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role. He currently serves as the vice president of behavior health at TeleMed2U, principal investigator at Biobehavioral Research of Austin, and a psychiatrist at Specialty Clinic of Austin. He is also an active member of several professional organizations including the Texas Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Texas Medical Association, Travis County Medical Association, and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
