~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Brandy Robinson as the new Austin County Criminal District Attorney. Robinson, a resident of Sealy, will serve a term that expires on December 31, 2026, or until her successor is elected and qualified.

Robinson brings a wealth of experience to her new role as she currently serves as the first assistant criminal district attorney in the Austin County Criminal District Attorney's Office. She is also a member and former president of the Austin County Bar Association and holds memberships with the State Bar of Texas, Texas Prosecutors Society, and the Texas District & County Attorneys Association.

In addition to her legal work, Robinson is also actively involved in her community. She has served as the editorial board chair for The Texas Prosecutor Journal and is a founding member and president of the Austin County Child Advocacy Council. She also volunteers with the gospel music ministry at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville.

Robinson's impressive credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in History and English from Texas State University and a Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School. Her appointment is now pending confirmation by the Senate.
