~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Wynn Rosser, Ph.D. to the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) for a term that will end on June 30, 2029. The SREB is an organization that collaborates with states to enhance public education at all levels, from early childhood to doctoral education.
Established in 1948 by southern governors and legislators, the SREB is the first regional interstate compact for education. Its founders recognized the crucial connection between education and economic prosperity.
Dr. Rosser, who hails from Austin, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He currently serves as the Commissioner of Higher Education and CEO of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. He is also a member of both the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and the State Higher Education Executive Officer Association.

Dr. Rosser's educational background includes an associate degree from Kilgore College and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Development, Master of Science in Agriculture Education, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University. He also holds an Emergency Medical Technician Certificate from the School of EMS in Tyler.
