~ Governor Abbott has recently appointed Leslie Timmons as the new District Attorney for the 31st Judicial District in Gray, Hemphill, Lipscomb, Roberts, and Wheeler Counties. Timmons will serve a term that is set to expire on December 31, 2026, or until her successor is elected and qualified.
Timmons, a resident of Shamrock, has an impressive background in law and public service. She has been serving as the Wheeler County Attorney since 2013 and previously held the position of Roberts County Attorney for three terms. In addition to her work as an attorney at the Law Office of Leslie Timmons, she is also a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas District & County District Attorneys Association.

Timmons' dedication to her community goes beyond her legal career. She is a fellow with the College of the State Bar of Texas and a paramedic with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. She also volunteers with Wheeler Meals on Wheels and serves as secretary for the Friends of Wheeler County Historical Commission. Timmons is also a volunteer mediator with the Dispute Resolution Center.
Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Texas Tech University (TTU), a Juris Doctor from TTU School of Law, and a Paramedic Certificate from PERCOM.
